Biography

Charles W. Olson is Senior Vice President and President, Medical Device Coatings. Charlie joined Surmodics in July 2001 as Market Development Manager, was named General Manager of Hydrophilic Technologies business unit in April 2004 and was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Hydrophilic Technologies in October 2004. He added the responsibilities of Vice President of Sales in April 2005 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing in March 2010. Charlie was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Medical Device business unit in October 2010 and to his current role in August 2016. Before joining Surmodics, Charlie was employed as General Manager at Minnesota Extrusion and worked at Lake Region Manufacturing in project management and technical sales. Charlie received a BSBA degree in Marketing from Winona State University in 1987.
