Biography

Timothy J. Arens is Senior Vice President of Finance and Information Technology and Chief Financial Officer. Tim joined Surmodics in February 2007 as Director of Business Development, became Senior Director and General Manager of the In Vitro Diagnostics business unit in October 2010 and was named interim Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer in August 2011. He was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy in February 2013. Tim served as interim Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer from May 2018 until his appointment as permanent Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer in February 2019. In April 2020, he was promoted to his current role. Prior to Surmodics, Tim was Director of Research and Analysis at St. Jude Medical. He also worked at Deluxe Corporation, Xcel Energy, U.S. Bancorp, and UCare Minnesota in capacities of new product development and product management. Tim received his BBA in Business Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and his MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
