Biography

Joseph J. Stich is Senior Vice President Human Resources and President, In Vitro Diagnostics. Joe joined Surmodics in March 2010 as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy and added the responsibilities of Marketing in October 2010. He was named Vice President of Business Operations and General Manager of In Vitro Diagnostics in August 2011 and Vice President and General Manager of In Vitro Diagnostics in September 2013. In April 2020, he was promoted to his current role and assumed responsibility for Human Resources. Prior to Surmodics, Joe was Vice President of Corporate Development for Abraxis Bioscience, LLC, from 2009 to 2010 and was a Vice President for Eisai Pharmaceuticals (MGI PHARMA, Inc.) from 2005 to 2009. Prior experience also includes serving as President and Chief Operating Officer of Pharmaceutical Corp. of America (a subsidiary of Publicis Healthcare Specialty Group) and positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing at Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Joe received a BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 1988, and an MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City in 1996.
